Dino, legally known as Lee Chan but universally identified as the unstoppable whirlwind of Seventeen, was born in 1999, in the delightfully unassuming town of Iksan, South Korea. Raised in a family that quite literally danced through life, thanks to his parents’ dance studio, Dino had little choice but to pick up a few moves—or rather, all the moves—early on. As the group’s youngest member or "maknae" (a word that in K-pop terms loosely translates to “adorable yet terrifyingly talented youngster”), he managed to earn himself the nickname "Dinosaur," possibly because of his colossal energy and the tendency to stomp through performances with the grace of a raptor in disco shoes. Dino’s story proves that age is but a number and ambition, when paired with choreography, can turn even the smallest town kid into the “Future of K-pop,” or at least into someone who inspires kids everywhere to dance like nobody’s watching—even if everyone is.
