Flanimals is a humorous illustrated book created by British comedian Ricky Gervais and artist Rob Steen. Flanimals are fictional, absurd and very funny creatures that live on one far-far planet. The book does not have a classic plot - it is built as a pseudo-encyclopedia, where each flanimal has its page with picture and description. For example, on the left in the coloring book is Grongle - he is extremely lazy and spends most of his time in a state of dull stupor, not showing much intelligence. He is positioned as an evolutionary mistake - a creature that survived by some ridiculous accident and not because of the benefit to the ecosystem. On the right is Mulon - a humanoid-like creature resembling a sea turtle. He breathes air, but is fully adapted to life in the ocean. This is the most intelligent creature on the planet. He is a pacifist and a humanist - he never knowingly harms other Flanimals.
