Handong, known officially as Dong Sicheng but more widely recognized as the intergalactic emissary of elegance in Dreamcatcher, was born in 1996, in Wuhan, China—a city with the perfect mix of history and mystery to produce someone extraordinary. Armed with a childhood passion for music and a degree in musical theater that sounds like it might double as a license to sing interstellar ballads, she boldly ventured to South Korea, learning a new language and mastering the intricate art of K-pop choreography, which could easily double as the universal sign language for “I’m awesome.” With a voice that soothes galaxies and a demeanor that could charm a grumpy alien warlord, Handong inspires kids to leap over cultural boundaries, chase their dreams and maybe, just maybe, adopt a fluffy pet along the way.
