July is the month when it's best to lie by the sea on a sun lounger and sip a cocktail, just like King Julien of Madagascar. That's why I chose him for July, especially since his name, Julien, sounds a lot like July. Remember how he first appeared in the cartoon? He was the self-proclaimed "King of the Lemurs" on Madagascar, where the main characters landed. And he used his friendship with them to scare off the hyenas. Interestingly, Julien's role in the script was initially very small. But actor Sacha Baron Cohen, who voiced him, suggested an unusual accent and improvised the line "I like to move it, move it." Everyone loved it so much that King Julien was made one of the main characters. He loves being the center of attention, dancing and giving ridiculous orders to his assistant, Morris.
