This is a coloring page of Leonardo da Vinci - the famous Italian artist, scientist and inventor. He was born in 1452 in a family of a wealthy notary. Leonardo didn’t go to a regular school but studied himself a lot by observing nature and reading. Leonardo loved ещ ask questions and learn about everything - plants, animals, machines and even how human body works. He had a talent for drawing and at 14 years, he became an apprentice to a famous artist Verrocchio. His most famous painting is the "Mona Lisa" shown on this page.
Leonardo kept many notebooks filled with sketches, ideas and inventions. For example he designed machines like flying machines and bridges. I think da Vinci is a great example for children ho to be passionate about learning new things ( whether in art, science or inventions) and explore our world. Maybe this story and this coloring page will give a start point for your kid to become such an outstanding person. I've also added the name to this page so that kids learn letters while coloring them.

Before our trip, my daughter wasn’t particularly interested in art, which made me a bit nervous about how she’d react to visiting a museum as vast as the Louvre. So, I decided to tell her the story behind the Mona Lisa's mysterious smile and how it puzzled art lovers for centuries. And guess whta...that little story sparked her curiosity! When we were finally standing in front of the painting, I saw her eyes were shining, and she even asked questions about the brush-strokes. It was a proud parent moment to see her genuinely engaged with something so iconic.
Now, back home, I’m thrilled to have found this coloring page. It feels like a perfect way to keep her engaged. I’m looking forward to coloring it together remembering about our Paris adventure. Who knows? Maybe this will be the start of a lifelong love of art for her!
