Mulan is a popular Disney animated film released in 1998. The film is based on a medieval Chinese ballad about Fa Mulan, a woman who joined the army. The story takes place in medieval China, which was fighting against nomads who were constantly attacking from the north and pushing their way into the country through the Great Chinese Wall. After another such attack, the Emperor ordered an army to be raised and Mulan's father was also called. But as he was too old and in poor health, Mulan decides to go in his place. She dressed up as a man, took a horse and wnet to the army camp. The spirits of Mulan's family's ancestors decide to help her and send a dragon Mushu. With his help, Mulan was able to survive in the training camp and become an excellent warrior. It was she who defeated the nomad army by unleashing an avalanche on them and saved General Shang (whom she later married).
