Nayeon, born on September 22, 1995, in Seoul, arrived in the world like a cosmic wink, destined for an orbit of dazzling performances and general idol greatness. After stealthily auditioning for JYP Entertainment in 2010, she became a trainee with a fervor for stardom matched only by her cheerful tenacity. She was picked for a nearly mythical girl group named 6mix, which, alas, never saw the light of a stage—an event so common in the idol world it’s practically a rite of passage. Unfazed, she popped up in commercials, floated through music videos and even cameoed in Dream High 2 to maintain a sort of omnipresence, all before landing on the survival show Sixteen and her fateful debut with TWICE on October 20, 2015. Known as TWICE’s oldest member, lead vocalist and general ambassador of all things bubbly, Nayeon ultimately made her solo debut in 2022 with IM NAYEON and the catchy single “POP!,” thus proving that not only could she pop, she could absolutely "POP!"
