Phineas and Ferb is a cartoon with a lot of technical inventions. Each episode begins with Phineas coming up with something impossible, such as building a giant roller coaster, going into space or building a whole beach in the middle of the city. Ferb is not as talkative, but it is his hands and engineering skills that turn fantasy into reality. The only one character smarter than this couple in the cartoon is Professor Doofenshmirtz. Almost every one of his devices has a name that ends with "-inator" and is created in order to take revenge on someone, get rid of an annoying little thing, or, in his fantasies, finally take over the Tri-State Area. His inventions are funny in their excessive ingenuity and uselessness: a laser to destroy all the garden gnomes, a machine that changes the direction of rivers, a device that turns ordinary things into giant ones.
