Project Hail Mary is an engaging book by American author Andy Weir (the same one who wrote The Martian), as well as a funny 2026 movie. It's the story of how some space bacteria began devouring our sun and to save our world, NASA sends a team of three scientists and astronauts to another solar system, Tau Ceti, which has somehow solved the same problem. Quite by chance, schoolteacher Ryland Grace joins this team and after being in anabiosis sleep he remains the only survivor when the ship reaches its destination. Ryland meets an alien, also the only survivor of his ship, that has come to Tau Ceti with the same goal as earthlings. Together, they must find a way to communicate and find a solution to cure the sun of the bacteria.
