Ruben Amorim is a manager of Manchester United since 11 November 2024. He was born in 1985 in Portugal and made his debut in the Portuguese League at the age of 18. He played as a midfielder and won 10 titles with Benfica and also played for the Portugal national team in two World Cups. He retired from playing at 32, which is quite early for a footballer. Instead of pursuing a long career he decided to become a coach. He studied and worked under José Mourinho, one of the most renowned coaches in the world. At a relatively young age, he took charge of Sporting (Portugal) and helped them win a championship they hadn't won for 19 years. He has a unique style: his team maintains a lot of possession and moves quickly. He says that a team isn't just a collection of individuals, but a unified organism and that every player is important.
