Soobin, a remarkably tall, delightfully soft-spoken leader of TXT, materialized in 2000, in the unassuming city of Ansan, South Korea—a location that had, until then, failed to produce anyone quite so endearingly obsessed with bread and hedgehogs. The youngest of three siblings, Soobin spent his childhood quietly plotting his rise to stardom, which began with a heroic struggle to pass his Big Hit Entertainment audition (possibly involving some cosmic alignment of snacks and determination). After three years of rigorous training and strategic kindness, he debuted on March 4, 2019, as TXT’s leader—a role he fulfills with the grace of someone who just discovered leadership was a thing and decided to be very good at it. Inspiring kids everywhere with his mix of humility, gentleness and an uncanny ability to charm hedgehogs, Soobin is living proof that even the shyest among us can quietly conquer the universe.
