SuA, known to Earthlings as Kim Bo-ra but clearly someone who could moonlight as a cosmic dance commander, was born in 1994, in Changwon, South Korea—a city whose only claim to fame until then was that it had never produced a whirlwind of talent quite like her. As a child, she had the kind of energy that could probably power a small star and quickly turned her love for dancing into a quest to bring happiness to the masses (and perhaps confuse a few overly serious aliens). Years of rigorous training turned her into a performer whose every move seems to say, “Yes, I’m this good and no, gravity doesn’t matter.” With her bubbly charm, artistic streak and the uncanny ability to make everyone around her feel like they’ve just stepped into a much brighter corner of the universe, SuA reminds kids everywhere that joy, hard work and a little bit of mischief can turn dreams into reality.
