The Three Musketeers coloring pages

The Three Musketeers is a famous book by Alexandre Dumas, which has been adapted into many films and cartoons, including Luc Besson's 2011 film. It tells the story of how the young Gascon d'Artagnan comes to Paris to become a musketeer and meets the three musketeers - Athos, Porthos and Aramis. They become friends and live by the principle of "One for all and all for one." They become involved in political intrigues at the royal court: the rivalry between the queen and Cardinal Richelieu, espionage, conspiracies and secret missions with the dangerous and treacherous Milady working against them.

The book describes the time of King Louis XIII of France, during the reign of the cunning Cardinal Richelieu, the country's leading political figure. At this time, the Thirty Years' War (1618–1648) was raging in Europe - Catholics were fighting against Protestants and France was drawn into the conflict. Interestingly, France was a Catholic country, but it supported the Protestants in order to weaken its main enemies, the Habsburgs (Spain and Austria).
