The Wizard of Oz is a book by American writer Lyman Frank Baum (1900). This is a story about a girl Dorothy from Kansas. A hurricane takes her house with her and her dog Toto to the magical land of Oz. To return home, Dorothy must get to the Emerald City and ask the Great and Terrible Wizard of Oz for help. On the way, she meets three friends: the Scarecrow, who dreams of gaining brains; the Tin Woodman, who wants a heart; the Cowardly Lion, who wants to gain courage. Together they go through dangers and get to the Emerald City, where the Wizard lives. But he did not fulfill their dreams, but set them a condition - to kill the evil witch of the east and even when they did it - he did not help. It turned out that he was not a wizard at all, but an ordinary man who, like Dorothy, accidentally found himself in the land of Oz. The good thing was that the Scarecrow, the Woodcutter and the Lion have already received the abilities they wanted.
